For colour issues, a photo next to a neutral white sheet helps evaluation.
How we resolve
Remake or replacement using the correct method, size, or colour.
Partial credit if a minor issue is acceptable to you.
Refund only when a remake is not feasible.
What can or cannot be returned
Returnable
Faulty stitching, misprints, or damaged on arrival.
Sizing that is clearly outside the published brand chart tolerances.
Wrong colour, wrong item, or wrong decoration method shipped by us.
Not returnable
Change of mind or preference changes after approval.
Approved proof errors and low-resolution uploads supplied by the customer.
Courier delays and stock delays outside our control.
Washed, worn, altered, or stained garments.
Subjective comments such as “a bit too big”, “a bit too small”, “slightly off-centre” when within stated tolerances.

Production specifics
Sampling policy
We strongly recommend ordering one sample before full runs, especially for critical branding.
Sample cost is fully refundable when you proceed with a full production run of the same design.
Full-order refunds for fit or finish expectations are at our discretion.
Restocking fee
Late changes after production starts may incur fees.
Minimum 5 CAD per unit, up to 15% of the product price.
Decoration methods
Color Print (DTF) is used for full-colour, detailed artwork and logos.
Screen print is used for higher-volume runs and solid colour graphics.
Embroidery is used for durable, stitched decoration on suitable garments.
Our team may suggest the most suitable method unless you specify otherwise.
Decoration tolerances (all methods)
Product sizing: see individual product pages for brand size charts and standard manufacturing variance.
Embroidery sizing tolerance: ±1 inch.
Color Print (DTF) sizing tolerance: ±1 inch.
Screen print sizing tolerance: ±1 inch.
Embroidery placement tolerance: ±1 inch.
Color Print (DTF) placement tolerance: ±1 inch.
Screen print placement tolerance: ±1 inch.
Colour variance tolerance: up to 10% between digital screens and physical output is considered normal and not a fault.
If you require an exact decoration size, exact placement, or exact colour match, you must write this clearly in the order notes or contact us by email immediately after ordering.
If no exact instructions are provided, PrintBarn will apply professional judgment to optimise the final result. This optimisation is not eligible for refund or remake.
Embroidery policy
Digitizing and setup
Embroidery requires a stitch-ready file. Converting artwork to stitches is a paid service.
Revisions after stitch preview approval may incur additional fees.
Underlay stitching is required for stability; minor outlines may be visible on dark fabrics.
Colours, sizing, and placement
Pantone to thread is an approximation. We use the closest available thread colour considering sheen and fabric tone.
Embroidery sizing tolerance is ±1 inch. If no exact embroidery size is provided in the order notes, our team may enlarge or reduce the design by up to 1 inch so that it looks best on the garment. This is a quality optimisation, not a defect.
Embroidery placement tolerance is ±1 inch for chest, sleeve, and cap positions. Without a precise instruction (for example, “3 inches down from neckline”), we use industry-standard placement.
Comments such as “a bit too left/right” or “slightly higher/lower” are not considered faults when within this ±1 inch tolerance.
Letters below 4 mm may lose legibility; larger fonts or simplified artwork are recommended.
If you require an exact embroidery size or very specific placement, please include this clearly in your order notes or email us after placing your order.
3D puff embroidery
Available only on suitable designs and products.
Small edge trims can remain after foam compression and are considered normal.
Pre-production stitch sample
Optional paid stitch sample is available and recommended for critical branding and colour expectations.
Color Print (DTF) policy
Color Print sizing
Color Print (DTF) sizing tolerance is ±1 inch.
If you do not provide an exact print size, we scale the artwork to best fit the garment and design proportions. We may reduce or increase the print by up to 1 inch to improve appearance for your garment size.
Subjective comments such as “slightly bigger than I thought” or “a bit smaller than I imagined” are not valid grounds for refund or remake when within this tolerance.
If you require a specific width or height (for example, “10 inch wide front print”), this must be written clearly in your order notes.
Color Print placement and colour
Color Print placement tolerance is ±1 inch for chest, front, back, sleeve, and tag prints.
If you do not specify a precise placement, we use industry-standard positions for that garment type.
Comments such as “slightly more left/right” or “a little higher/lower” are not considered faults when within the ±1 inch tolerance.
RGB screens and CMYK plus white ink prints will never look identical. Up to 10% colour difference between your monitor and the actual print is considered normal.
Fabric content, fabric colour, and lighting can affect vibrancy and appearance. This is not a defect.
If you need a critical colour match, please request a pre-production sample.
Low-resolution or pixelated artwork will print as supplied. We cannot refund prints that are blurry or pixelated due to customer-provided files.
Screen print policy
Screen print sizing
Screen print sizing tolerance is ±1 inch.
When exact size is not requested, designs are scaled to fit the print area, stencil, and garment for the best visual impact.
Minor differences in perceived size compared to mockups are normal and not refundable when within this tolerance.
Screen print placement and colour
Screen print placement tolerance is ±1 inch for chest, front, back, and sleeve prints.
If no measurement is provided, prints are positioned using standard print shop practice.
Comments that the print is “slightly higher/lower” or “a bit off-centre” are not faults when within the ±1 inch tolerance.
Colour differences between your screen and actual print are normal due to ink, mesh, layers, and garment colour. Up to 10% variance is not considered a misprint.
Light press or curing marks that disappear after washing are not valid reasons for refund.
Frequently asked questions
Pixelation results from low-resolution uploads. We print exactly what you provide; returns are not accepted for pixelation or blur caused by customer artwork.
Garment colours on screen are shown in RGB and will not match real fabric perfectly. Differences in brightness, contrast, and device settings are normal and not a fault.
Brand size charts are shown on product pages. Fit depends on each person’s body shape, so comments such as “too fitted” or “too loose” are not considered defects. Returns are not accepted if the shipped size matches the order and is within the brand’s normal tolerance.
Once production begins, cancellation may incur a restocking fee. If production has not started, we will do our best to help adjust or cancel your order.
Thread is a physical material with sheen and texture. Fabric tone and lighting also affect the perceived colour. Pantone to thread is always an approximation, not an exact match.
Letters below 4 mm can lose clarity due to stitch density and fabric texture. We recommend increasing the size or simplifying the artwork for best legibility.
Yes. Small edge trims and minor foam traces are normal after compression and are acceptable within industry standards.
No. Light press or heat marks are industry standard and typically disappear after the first wash or gentle steaming.
Embroidery sizing tolerance is ±1 inch. If no exact size was requested in your order notes, our team may adjust the logo within this range for the best appearance. This is not a defect and is not eligible for refund or remake.
Embroidery placement tolerance is ±1 inch. If you did not provide exact placement measurements, we use standard positions. Small differences within this tolerance are normal and not a reason for refund.
Color Print (DTF) sizing has a tolerance of ±1 inch. If no specific size was requested, we scale the artwork for the best fit. Minor differences within this tolerance are not eligible for remake.
Color Print placement tolerance is ±1 inch. If you did not specify an exact distance from seams or edges, prints are positioned according to standard practice. Slight shifts within tolerance are not considered defects.
Screen print sizing tolerance is ±1 inch. Layout previews are guides; small differences within this range are normal and not refundable.
Screen print placement tolerance is ±1 inch. As long as the print falls within this tolerance and matches the ordered size and location category (for example, front chest), it is considered correct.
Please include your exact requirements in the order notes (for example, “10 inch wide print” or “3 inches below neckline”) or email us immediately after placing your order. If no exact measurements or colour instructions are provided, we will use our professional judgment and apply the tolerances listed on this page.
